I find it funny, sad, but not surprising that so many don't know who Jack Pierce is.

I am a big fan, and it isn't that I think the $75 price tag isn't worth it, and I understand the cost, I just have a hard time spending that kind of cash on one little modern figure, when I can spend it on something sweet vintage, or multiple modern toys. So yeah, I would LOVE to own one, but $75 is just too much for me. If he were in the 30 to 40 range, I would snatch one right up.

Massive kudos to EMCE for doing this though. Never thought I would see a Jack figure!

        I'd definitely buy the head.
I understand that custom figures take more time and money, so they're more expensive to sell, but the $75 price tag is just too high for me.

It has, however, inspired me to "build a Jack" myself!

And I'm still happy that Pierce finally gets a figure. Great job!

If the figure didn't cost so much, it would be easy to pop the head of and find a head that sort of resembles Colin Clive for a Dr. Frankenstein.

The price of the figure doesn't scare me as much as the price of the barber chair...Yikes!

It's funny to me because over on the replica prop forum I sometimes haunt you can spend a few hundred dollars on milled aircraft aluminum parts to build yourself a thor hammer or lightsaber or such (after you spend a whole lot more money and have sufficient trade craft to scratch build everything else).
I know you could pick up a resin recast 18" Juvenile Narwhal horn for $75 to $150 (reinforced) from a very talented and kind of lurky member here and that's pretty low as those things go.

I guess it's all relative, but $75 is really not terribly high for what they're offering. Many commercial sculptors are going to charge $250 to $350 for a head sculpt if they're not working by hour. That is a pretty mean sculpt.

Personally I love the idea (and I got all giddy when I had Rico Browning sign my Creature Legacy dvd set) but even I'm not the target audience for this... They may sell out at the show - it's a perfect exclusive.
