There's going to be a new flea market opening around here next month. Maybe I'll have some luck there.

There is a kind of joy that only can be described as opening a gift on christmas day, when you find a Mego in the wild.....and not paying through the roof for one....I've had that joy a few times when going to the Flea Markets here in New York.....Comment

I gotta point out though. These two find in one month are a rarity. Over a year and 3 month time and countless visits. I have found to date.
A Soldier ape in funky homemade outfit.
Superman in worn outfit
Fonzie in Small Johnny West vest
Dina Mite jumpsuit
And the penguin pictures above.
I goto this G-will habitually. Except weekends due to crowds. I guess it all depends on alot of Luck and some determination (Or despiration?)Comment

I think this story tops mine. Usually Fleamarket sellers overprice all thier items and the quality of the item is beyond used! I've seen a few at the Ancaster Nostalgia show every time I go. Spock with no pants, a broken Superman, Chips, and I bought the Shazam that was there about a year ago. I had to throw out the cape as it was so dirty it would never be nice again. I made one instead. The rest of the figure is clean.Comment

My Mom found my Mego Romulan at a flea market for $ 01.25. Only thing missing were his boots and belt.
She thought it was one of the Knights of the Round Table. I was speechless...

Over Christmas, I found this case at a flea market. Prices were very high, at least for me...

Judging from what was at that booth, the seller was not a regular flea market seller but a seasoned toy dealer.
Nothing wrong with that, but it always bothers me when real dealers sell at flea markets: flea markets are for bargain, they're not collectible toy shows..

You know, I always get really excited, and then really upset (perhaps a little more than I should
) when I see a Craigs ad for a Garage Sale, that's advertising TV movie collectibles, action figures, or the worst when they say 'pickers dream' and 'vintage toys' in the same ad, then I get there and everything's at super high ebay prices.

If I saw those at a flea market i probably would still be tempted even with high prices (unless it was totally outragous)Comment

And ya know, the worst part is this guys probably picking up all the decent stuff from the other vendors. I'd do the same mind you, and really, it's all just part of the collecting game.Judging from what was at that booth, the seller was not a regular flea market seller but a seasoned toy dealer.
