USA Today’s feature on Toyfair 2012 contained this little nugget: The Universal Monsters toy coming from Diamond Select look, dare we say, scary good. There’s a new wave of 8-inch Retro Cloth action figures including Creature from the Black Lagoon and Bride of Frankenstein, 7-inch figures the Invisible Man, the Phantom of the Opera and the Metaluna Mutant (from This Island Earth), and Minimates based on “The Mummy” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Here is the boxed set of “The Mummy” figures, with the Mummy, Princess Anck Es En Amon, the Mummy’s Sarcophagus and the set-exclusive Helen Grosvenor. That’s right an 8″ Creature from the Black Lagoon is coming (the one pictured above is NOT the prototype, just a custom from one of our talented members used here to illustrate how awesome this will be) 2012 is going to be expensive.
