I would have to be pretty desperate to sell my collection. I have some pieces that I would never be able to replace. I am amazed I was able to find them in the first place, and at that it took me years, and a lot of good luck, to find them. As much fun as the hunt is, years down the line when I still haven't found some of those impossible to find grail pieces, the regret of selling would eat me up.

interesting to note that several folks have said it will cost "more" later to reacquire...

this is my 3rd collection of megos, sold off for other reasons the first 2 times...(though the first 2 paled in comparison to my current incarnation)... and to be honest, some of the figures that I have repurchased have cost less than what I sold similar figures for years and years ago...

now, does that apply to a carded ww, or carded GG or SB RM robin?...no, those always seem to experience continual price in creases...but some % of my collection actually has cost me less this go around!

Me personally no. Here's why. In the past I would buy things I remembered fondly from my childhood only to have to part with them because I needed the money. Those days are thankfully behind me. Today it gives me great joy knowing I need never sell of my collectibles again out of desperation. Plus there a new layer of nostalgia/personalization to a lot of what i have now. While I have a few pieces bought off of Ebay I'd say a good 80% I've bought from members here mostly in person at Mego Meet and occasionally by mail. I can't put a price on that. From a pure financial perspective prices inevitably go up whatever short term windfall I'd get would be erased over time by paying more to get the items back. It's happened to me with all my "big 3" collections (Mego, Vintage Star Wars, and comics) so needless to say I've learned my lesson.

Sometimes "chasing the hot chick" is better than spending large amounts of time with the hot chick...

Not speaking from expierence (unfortunately) but just from what others have told me throughout the years
