    Blue String Hulk Variant

I just picked up a lot of Mego figures today and in there was an 8" Hulk with a blue string around around his shorts instead of a purple one. My first thought was that someone just tied a blue string to replace the purple one but after further inspection, this looks like a legitimate variation. The material the strings are made of, the stitching on the shorts, and the length of the strings are identical to one another. The actual Hulk I got today is also a bit odd. He's kind of multicolored in that his left right leg its a brighter green than the rest of the body . The right leg color is almost the same color as the Hulk I had already but the rest of the body on the one I got today is a much darker green. Also the face on the one I picked up today seems to be a bit different too. Check out the pics below to see what I'm talking about. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Fewer early release Hulks did come with the blue/gray string. This color string seems to be limited to boxed Hulks. Anything is possible, but I have yet to see any carded Hulk with this color string.
Common sense is not that common.

Interesting...I'm surprised the gallery doesn't mention the string variation on the Hulk page...Any idea of the rarity of something like this or theories about the color differences?

i believe it is a fairly well known variation, not too sure about the rarity, but i don't believe one is generally preferred over the other

personally i like the blue one better

the different green body parts is just the plastic doing its color shift thing

really glad you shared the photos of the string and if the galleries dont mention all hulk variants we need to update BUT i agree with the above comment that it is a known variant and is no more preferred.

And as far as body color - Hulk generally had two major shades - dark and light but there are also 100 variations in between those shades. Making it hard to fix Hulks with missing parts.

Who is it here on the museum was the obsessive hulk collector? Lets see a pic of the set.

Very cool..I never knew about the blue string. I didn't seek this figure out either. The figure just came in the lot of Megos I bought. I was actually planning to sell him off but since it's an actual variant, I'm gonna keep him. I actually prefer the blue better to the purple. It adds more variety to the figure but the Hulk with the purple string in the photos is mine from when I was a kid. One other thing I just noticed....the Hulk with the blue tie is strung together with um, string but the other Hulk is strung together with the rubber band. Is this something Mego varied when the Hulks were in production or has the one I got today been restrung?
