1973 Batman

My Dad told me when he was a kid, he got his first Batman mego in a window box, and it was a MC Batman. He knows for sure that this was 1973, but your Batman page seems to indicate that this is impossible. Can someone please explain?

In the 70's, just about every type of store had a toy section, drug stores, hardware stores, grocery stores, etc. Some toys sat on the shelf for years, I remember seeing 60's GI Joe stuff still on the shelf in the mid 70's at a local hardware store (wish I had picked it up) So he could very easily have made this purchse in 73 if it was one of these type stores where the stock sat for some time.

The MC Batman was the rare Scottish variant. Man, I'd kill for one of those!

I think the rc Batman lasted longer than the solid boxes. So his memory might be correct. I had the removable mask Robin, but not the removable cowl Batman.

RC Batmans were definitely in window boxes, that was my very first Mego I got as a kid.

He may have got one of the first MC [molded cowl] Batmans that may have hit the shelves in late 73
I got Robin for christmas of 73 and he had the Painted mask
