    Read My Mind

Okay this is going to sound weird but I have been collecting for all of 2 weeks now. Star Trek and POTA and just picked up a Spidey from a member here. All of this collecting and time spent on this website has made me super nostalgic and I have come to realize I have blocked out huge parts of my childhood thinking the 70's were just not that cool but it is all coming back to me, so many memories have been sparked from seeing images on this site of toys either I or my friends had. This is awesome!
So back then I did not know what a mego was and until a few days ago forgot that micronauts even existed. Anyone else experience this awesome flashback sensation? I am guessing it is common and a huge part of the appeal aside from the thrill of the hunt.
Anyway here is my question. So I had this action figure that had a push button in his back that made his arm go in a chopping motion which came with a log stump that you could hit. The arm had a rubber type feeling to it. Can someone tell me what this was - was it Big Jim, GI Joe or something else. I remember playing with this figure endlessly but the memory is not so clear. - read my mind

I never realized Big Jeff also came w/ grip hands. I always thought hair color and the hands were the only real difference between him and Mattel's Tarzan, but I guess it's mainly just hair color. Here is a comparison shot.

And welcome to the Museum, MrMe--have fun!

                  Another Canadian! Welcome aboard!

I sometimes have strange flashbacks like you're describing. Most recently for me it wasn't about toys but an old cartoon called The Littles (I think). I work at a movie theater and we have a poster for the Borrowers and I was looking at it thinking the concept seemed familiar. That being tiny people that live in the walls of your house. And suddenly I was remembering flashes of the Littles and portions of the theme song.

Welcome and congratulations on the flashbacks. They are the single best part of collecting. I had barely given Megos a second thought until about 10 years ago. And when I first held the vintage Superman that kick started my present collection, I was lucky enough to be pulled back to the days when summers lasted forever the song of the ice cream truck filled me with anticipation. Enjoy!
