After just reading and watching the Brown/Maroon ape auction end a little while ago from another thread it gave me an idea to start a new thread regarding the going prices for Mego's.
There seems to be a lot of price fluctation opinions and ideas regarding what people will pay for items vs. what the item actually goes for on average in auctions and in the market place here.
I think that it would be a great thing to be able to start some kind of an on line real time price guide to give people here an actual reasonable and inteillgent idea of what their figures might sell for if they wish to sell them.
There are also new members that are joining every day and just starting their collections. A lot of them have no idea as to what to pay for Mego figures without the fear of getting taken advantage of and or ripped off by some wolves in sheeps clothing so to speak.
What do you say that we all come together here as a group collectively and try to shed some light on this subject?
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Also please keep in mind that this list should not include thrift store, garage sale and or flea market type of sales or finds in the wild. Those type of rare finds would be unrealistic data in most cases here in the market place and would really distort the true price listing ranges.
Perhaps if we can get enough accurate input going here we can make this a sticky at a later date or even perhaps a link to a created online guide web site. This way information could be readily available and easily accessible vs. having to do the search and find method with the forums and or eBay looking up each individual price for figures to get an idea of the true market value. That can be very time consuming and perhaps even frustrating for some individuals with rather large collections or pieces to sell.
Ok to start things off and get the ball rolling lets choose a Mego figure to start with and then build off of that and go from there.
Lets start with the most common figure....regular issue Batman
What do you think would be a reasonable and fair going rate for a completed all original Batman in mint condition? I know that there are many variations of this and other figures so lets just stick with the basics for right now.
Thanks in advance for all of you input in help making this guide a reality.
