Happy New Year!
I've been lurking for the past two years. There have been several threads that I've wanted to reply to, but I felt like that'd be rude since I hadn't introduced myself.
My name is Chris, and I'm married with three kids. I make my living as a videographer in Atlanta, Georgia. I had probably a dozen Megos in the seventies - Batman, Robin, Superman, Hulk, Spiderman, etc. - but I have no idea where they are today. I still have chewed up Star Wars figures and Adventure People but no Megos.
Fast-forward to 2000... I was at a local toy show looking for Star Wars and Super Powers and I came across a T2 Superman for $20. No emblem and the cape was a bit frayed, but other than that he was very displayable. And so it began....
I added 30+ Megos to my collection over the next year or so, and with the help of Dr. Mego was able to get repros to make them whole again. I personally only care if a Mego is posable and displayable, so repros are fine with me. Then I got involved in acting and filmmaking and got married and had kids and... no more collecting, even though my Megos have always proudly displayed.
Fast-forward again to 2010... I would still occasionally check out some toy sites, especially around SDCC, and lo and behold I see NEW MEGOS!! Holy crap! I was sure the good folks on this site would have a few words about NEW MEGOS, and boy did they. I've been lurking ever since.
I've got the first three waves of the DC retros (still blows me away to see Lex Luthor, Green Lantern and The Flash on my shelf) and I've got the first wave of The Venture Bros, which I absolutely adore. I've also got the Diamond/EMCE Frankenstein (love it!). If I won the lottery tomorrow I would buy every other ReMego out there as I think they're all amazing. I only wish EMCE and BBP and Castaway and ZICA had been making this stuff ten years ago when I was single and had LOTS of $$$ to spend on this sort of stuff.
So there you have it. I look forward to contributing in the future and thanks to Brian and Scott and everyone else who makes this The Place To Be.
TL;DR - I
