    Make Your Own Superhero kit

Now on amazon.com - but not for long!

Amazon.com: Fourth Castle Make Your Own Superhero Action Figure Kit: Toys Games

This is something I have been kicking around for years - in fact, trying
to figure this out is what got Joe and I started on the Create Your Own
    Zombie Kit.

I got a call years ago from a guy at KB Toys wanting to do this and
have it retail for $20. There was no way I could make it for that
price, but the idea stuck in my brain. I did kid's birthday parties,
tried it out at Gwen's school, but it never clicked.

This same guy saw our zombie kit at Toy Fair and asked me to try
a test run - just to run on amazon - to see if the idea worked.

What with the holidays and all, I forgot to ever mention it here.
    sorry.

i love zombies ,but superheros would be the best,i think that idea should be done,i use to make home-made comicbooks when i was a kid. i would love to make figures of my own characters that i made up ,some were kinda rip-offs,but i did have some that were my own creations .do it doctor--go for it .

I think it's a good idea....Maybe add some different colour sticker paper so we can cut and make our own chest logos or such...Different hands, same things as the zombies, just not as putrid!! LOL...I think it will sell here quite well...Wayne

I think its a very good idea but to really take off it needs some 'Pop" i.e. package art / promotional video etc.. (just like the zombie kit). otherwise it looks like a generic lot of Mego parts from ebay. Also a mask and or helmet in the mix would be good too.

          My 2 cents.

This is kinda what I had in mind when I wrote this thread:

The Action Figure Kit - Mego Talk

Maybe some villains or space creatures to build w/ the heroes would be good and some cool packaging!
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Not a bad idea. I think it would be geared more toward kids than a collector though. The kit has limited choices although would make for a good starter kit for a novice.

What would really be cool for the adults and kids would be to feature a build a figure on your/a website in which the customer could pick out what they wanted given more choices.

I seen this done over at wrestling superstore's web site and I like the idea. It gives one more freedom to chose colors of boots, capes, outfits and different items, accessories. I think that would really be cool and a good seller to IMO.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

I think it's a AWESOME idea Paul!! Of course there'sa lot of factors involved here...the main one for me being what the head sculpts will look like?

                Still a very exciting concept.

As I said, this is a trial run. It is focused more towards kids and younger adults.
I realize that for most people here, it's too basic.

The idea is to gauge market interest in this format, now that several types
of characters have been produced recently with this body. We are still
not talking major retailers like Wal-Mart - this is aimed at the small retailers
                  and websites.

Do you think you would produce new rotocast heads in China for this...or would they be hand cast in resin?

Glad you found a Use for the blond Grayson head! Terrific idea. Particularly if the adults can also include stuff like fabric paints from a craft store for the kids to work with on their custom creations as well.

I really hope it does well enough to revisit in greater detail like the zombie kits.

Paul, did you end up using all of the Blonde Dick Grayson heads? Just wondering if you are going to offer them up on your site at all?

Great idea on the kit. I hope they do really well!

Love the concept. I think it definitely has potential.

Although, I must admit, I laughed when the kit said came with "3 leotards"...

Well, you could make them fairly simple...but something that could easily be converted. Like a Neal Adams style Robin head without the mask(thus NOT calling him Robin). That way kids could just paint one on. Or...the more advanced customizers could "sculpt" one on?
