need advice for cleaning an AquaMan belt

I bought this AquaMan years ago. He is in pretty nice shape, but someone had drawn a "V" on his belt. It looks like it was done with a felt marker. See pics. Can anyone advise how I might be able to remove the ink?

Someone had used a marker to add a belt to the vest on the Andorian I bought years ago. I removed it completely using Remove-zit, which can be purchased here...
