The NEW Action Jackson Line
I have posted along these lines before but every now and then I hafta vent it.
I LOVE the Action Jackson Concept but HATE the execution.
That sculpt is so ugly the doctor slapped the sculptor's mother. I don't know why there was a doctor involved.
The clothes are so poorly made and ill fitting that removing them from the card causes damage to it and putting them on the figure destroys them.
The vehicles are so goofy looking they make the Batcopter look like a sound working design.
Step One. New Sculpts.
Not NEW new , just repurposed. I love how good BW looks as as AJ in the Baravelli ad. It literally makes me weep at what was lost out on. If CK can also be Don, BW can also be AJ. BW just has that look of a late 60's early 70's Action and Adventure guy. And why does the same sculpt have to be used for all the guys? GI Joe, I am looking at you here. Atomic man and Bullet man really helped me think about it more. there should be different faces for the restof the crew. BW, for AJ, Blackbeard for the bearded guy, Galahad for the guy with a different hair color. Or POTAnaut. Either one. AA Aj can stay or steal a Deacon head from SWAT.
Step Two. New Clothes. I like the jumpsuits, just not the coveralls that look like Janitor's clothes. Switch to the hero bodysuit leotards that will show some musculature. Put it on backwards with a zipper closure and add a vinyl collar. Switch to hero boots instead of the lace up boots. And plastic hero belts. With a holster. Aj is gona need to shoot somebody soone or later.
Step Three. Vehicles.
AJ is gonna need wheels but not the clown faced helicopter. Not the F1 race car. The jeep is not horrible. The motorcycle is atrocious. He needs a 'jetpack. I am thinking something like the Flyaway action rig from the 1/6 scale line. Make it a little bit rocketeery maybe. He will need a copter. Maybe a little more James Bondy Gyro copter. If you use the type 0 plastic pin body, it would be light enough to do a zip cord copter and actually fly AJ around the backyard and up onto the roof.
