    Looking for Clamshells...

Not for carded figures, but for loose ones.

I bought a handful a few years ago, but I need quite a few more...

    Any ideas?

The ones I have say "Guardian Dragon" on the back, but Google has only led me to dead links.

Doc Mego has additional clamshells that are used for the EMCE line.
They hold both the loose figure and the backing card (like Star Trek.) Castaway Toys have theirs available as well. Neither one is designed to accommodate 'carded' figures.

CTVT was the only one I ever found that had a clamshell that will hold a loose figure only (no card), but they've been out of those for some time.

Of course, Zoloworld's clams are designed to hold the carded figures, but you've probably found that out already.

The Guardian Dragon clams were sold by TJ's Toys. For some reason, lately TJ's website has been down. I'm not sure if they've closed up shop or not.

I've contacted the guy I got mine from to see if he has any more left. I got a case two years ago.

That's a bummer--I would really like to get another 30 or so from them.

On a related note, what would you guys use for a boxed Action Man? I have one I got from Cast-A-Way, and I'd like to keep him pristine, as I buy loose AM's for my spare set of costumes.

Thanks, man--I'll do exactly that! I might ask him to start carrying those Guardian Dragon loose figure clamshells, too.

I wonder who actually made those Guardian Dragon clamshells? I've never seen them available anywhere but TJ's, but surely they weren't making them themselves. Or were they? I'm kind of surprised someone hasn't jumped on this and started making some just like them.

Those Guardian dragon ones are the best clamshells, and I also believe the manufacturer is defunct. I bought a case of 30 of them for $36 on ebay some months back and I felt a rush similar to getting a mego grail! ha!

I can understand that completely. I've actually kind of stopped picking up loose Megos, mainly because I'm out of those. I don't just want some of those, but need some. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy some of the ones from CTVT, although I prefer the others.

Anyone know if CTVT clamshells fit traditional mego cards?

Right now it's just our traditional superclam packaging... we may make more/different clams in the future. We have a great manufacturer here in the States...
