Well, kind of.
I think I've posted here in the past how my brothers and I made our mego's box each other. We had a world champion and rankings and even hand-drawn Ring Magazines......our 8" guys were the "Little Man Division" and the 12" guys were the "Big Man Division".
My champs were always Action Jackson (I called him AJ Foyt as a kid) and Big Superman (12" comic version).
My brothers and I still reminise about our "fightcards" done as children and to my 11 yr old nephew, they've become things of legend.
Fast forward 25 years.......this Friday night, my brothers & I are hanging out at the oldest's place with my nephew and he wants to do his own little fightcard for us to watch. We thought "That's cool" but he then asked if we'd bring some of our toys and do a fightcard as well.
At first I thought, I'm a little old for that, but then I said HELL YEAH! So I'm digging out my old mego's I played with as a kid and they're going to teach those newbie's sitting on my shelf a lesson......or will they?!
This Friday night only on (imaginary) PPV.....unbeaten IBF champion Little Pulsar (my mego custom) will face reigning WBC champion Klingon (my old one) in a unification match. <WBA champ mego GI Joe custom will be ringside>
On the undercard, Captain Pike vs Salt Monster as both make their boxing debut.
Retro Action Shazam! faces Clint McCallum. (Clint is an LJN Roy Desoto figure I slapped boxing trunks on as a kid and made up a name. He's always been a favorite of mine. Clint's finisher is a right hand named the Marciano Masher)
And, for a special treat for my brothers, Big Jim will enter unscheduled and issue an open challenge to ANYONE. Who will answer the call? None other than my old AJ who will come out of retirement for one night only.
Three grown men in their late 30's, early 40's will be playing with toys together like we were kids and pretending it's all for our nephew's enjoyment. Throw in some pizza and lots of making fun of each other too.
I'm expecting a hilariously nostalgic and memorable night.....one we will never share with our wives. (They think we're crazy enough).
I'll post outcomes afterwards.....my brother's line up will feature virtually all mego's as well. My oldest brother already told me his Kirk and Riddler will be commentating.
