Aww, geeze, which one would YOU pick?

    Hi Gang,

    Doing a comparison.
One of these Galahad shields came with the figure I got a while back.
Don't want to say which shield, as it may spoil your opinions

I'm sure each sheild has a certain charm.

The one on the left has melt marks from the sword. Letting you know, in case you can't make out the design. Also is lighter in color.
The one on the right has near perfect paint! Almost any knight sheild I've seen has had some sort of melt! Sound familiar?

The back is real apparent. Handle on the left one, missing it on the right.
The one without the handle could be replaced. But to do it right by replacing the whole thing would be chancing breaking those little pins!
The melts on the other one could be honed down just a little bit, making it less noticeable. They would still be there somewhat.

I am leaning on one, but wanted to put this out and get opinions.
The other one will go up for grabs, as I only have one Galahad.

Now, if you had to pick one, which one would it be?

    Thanks for looking, T

The more I read the more difficult my choice became. Hmmmmm...

I would keep the one with the handle. Both look good regardless of paint.. I too would be worried about breaking the plastic pins.

    There's my two cents.

Yeah, I'd keep the one with the melts and intact handle.

      Kind of.

In reality I'd swagger up to them both all full of confidence at the work table and fully commit.
The glue looks light on the one with the handle. If you take a light, specific application of model cement to weaken the glue and a flat (chisel) tipped X-Acto blade to slide under the handle base and pry upward like using a cat's-paw crowbar, I think odds are good that it will separate well. The other one though - that's a challenge. It's pretty glue-encrusted.
If I were to do anything I'd start with the unmelted one, because if stripping it down goes wrong, you still have the undamaged shield.

I hear you, Robert! I know exactly what you're saying!

Too bad they don't have a ball joint separator, tie rod/gear puller Mego size!

Keep the one with the handle, it's not worth risking to break the other one

I'd sell them both and use the funds to pick a one I was happy with.

Galahad sheilds don't pop up that often.

Id go with the one with the handle, its all there, and wouldnt risk breaking it. Just upgrade in the future.

I'd keep the one with the handle because having a shield that's been damaged by a sword totally works for me!

(and without the handle, how would you display it?)

Side Note: They both look better than my Galahad shield, so either way you win in my book!

Amen to that. Galahad shield with intact handle is my last knight part to get too. Mine has a ctvt handle chilling there.

I'd keep the one with the handle--you always have the option of sanding/ retouching it.

You might be able to do wonders with a CTVT handle/pins on the broken one?
