Yeah! Too bad there isn't a 'like button' option. That might be a better gauge of the overall response of the majority of folks out here. The way it goes most often however, is that the most negative voices are the loudest and most difficult to ignore. Anyway... me likee the positive stuff. And me likee my Flash and Ming, the AWESOME Doctor Who line, the AWESOME Twilight Zone line, the AWESOME The Big Lebowski line, the AWESOME Venture Bros line and.... Ah! You get the idea.

Bif Bang Pow! is doing wonderfully and I think, by and large, the vast, vast majority of us are very appreciative, grateful and just plain ecstatic about all the fantastic products that have been and continue to be made available via your toy production efforts. Not to overlook EMCE, Zica or Cast-a-way, but it is difficult to imagine a company that has contributed more positively (both in terms of quality and quantity) to the 1:9 scale collector's market than BBP. "That's all I have to say about that."Leave a comment:

Hello all-
I just wanted to jump on the boards again and make note of a couple of things. Mattildo, your enthusiasm for the SMDM series is pretty obvious, your detailed posts these past couple of weeks attest to that. And none of us can stop, nor would want to stop, any of that energy flying all over the Museum boards. Please know that while we don't hit the boards every day, we pop in now and then to see what's being grumbled about or praised, just for fun.
While we do now and then engage with the fan base on the odd detail here and there, we want to be clear that all the decisions we make are internal, and we don't make any of them lightly. I appreciate you letting us know, Mattildo, that you want to help in any way you can, but I'm sure you understand that we have to make this a BBP project all the way.
The good news is, we've been doing this a long time already, quite successfully, and we're sure that we're going to make items that will please long time fans, and just as important, bring in new ones. We'll always get the odd unhappy camper, but that comes with the territory.
Thanks for posting that response! I'm sure I speak for all the fans by saying we really appreciate when a company is personally interactive with their customers. It goes a long way for our enthusiasm and loyalty. Far too many companies either ignore customer input and suggestions or respond with ambiguous form letters, resulting in a final product that isn't quite as nice as it could have been. But we're also aware that you guys are huge fans of the properties you license, and would be actively posting here if you weren't already on the "inside".
I fully trust that you will do everything in your power to satisfy as many fans as possible, within the realistic limits you obviously must operate under. We are sure looking forward to more prototype "teases", and ultimately, the actual carded figures that we'll be holding in our (bionic) hands! Keep up the great work, guys!Last edited by Mattildo; Nov 3, '11, 12:35 AM.Leave a comment:

Here's where I get a bit whiny, but so be it: outside of Mattel and the fan base built up for their high end licenses, I can't think of another toy company that actively spends as much time interacting with possible and current customers as BBP does, Jason Labowitz and myself. (Labs more than me, clearly). I don't know how much you collect in the other toy realms, but getting personal attention and feedback is practically non existent. But at the end of the day, we have to make the decisions ourselves, good or bad, and as Mattel proved with a recent project, it wouldn't be wise of us to put too much stock in the requests of a small group of people only, passionate as they might be. We HAVE to think of the much bigger picture involved in all cases. I don't want to alienate anyone, but I also don't want to reach a point where there's a notion that because we're looking at things posted on the boards occasionally, if certain details DON'T make it into our toys, we've somehow made promises we didn't keep. And when I see some of the dialogues going on, well, it makes me a bit nervous that very thing may happen!
Which brings me to jetzjungle. Sir or madam, I replied once before to something negative you decided to say about our company, and I thought that might have been appreciated. There seems to have been some slight BBP has done against you that cuts deep, I sincerely hope some day you come to terms with it and move on. I'm proud of everything we've done, some more than others, and naturally get a bit defensive when I read such heavy doses of trashing such as yours. Again, hoping you come along for the rides we offer in the future, but if not, there will be another street car along that may take you further. But I won't be personally responding to any of your negativity in the future. (Oh, and I put our sculpts up there with the big boys any day, and proudly).
Again, if I haven't said it enough, we appreciate all of your kind words and support, they're always appreciated.Leave a comment:

I'm hoping they don't make the Bigfoot figure with a removable chest panel (like the old Kenner figure) or "peel back" fur. That feature was never part of the character on the original show. The only thing that exposed Bigfoot as not fully "organic" was when Steve pulled off his right arm, causing an explosion of sparks. Later, we learned that Bigfoot's construction was "similar" to Steve's, and he was some sort of mammal/synthetic hybrid, rather than a "robot" that the Kenner figure seemed to imply.Leave a comment:

That works great. EMCE already has the clear Phantom limb body. Just use the clear legs as well. Would Mattel grumble if you had a roll up flesh sleeve to hide the bionics like they had in the `70's? I would say do that but instead of rubber maybe use a panty-hose type material-flesh colored. This way after time the sleeve doesn't deteriorate.
For The Bionic Bigfoot maybe make some parts of the fur costume open w/velcro. Just lift a flap to reveal a Bionic pattern painted on the underlying body. Depending on cost you could make a torso with removable chest part under the fur much the same way the Micronauts figures had interchangable chest parts. Again, you don't have to go that far. A simple pattern under the costume would probably do it.

Isn't it beautiful the way a little sasquatch can bring people together?Leave a comment:

That's really impressive! If you ever want to show off any of it and have pics of your collection that you'd like to share, just let me know. I have a Bionic Heroes section of my website, but due to the fact that I don't currently own most of the original merchandise, I haven't done much with it. I just put the section up there because it was one of my favorite franchises as a kid. The page is still pretty crummy and lacking in content though. At any rate, the SMDM intro is still one of the absolute best in TV history, if you ask me. Such a great show.Leave a comment:

When SMDM was originally being broadcast, I was between 7 and 12 years old, so I was the perfect target for all the merchandising. I had most of the Kenner line, the trading cards, the comic books, model kits, puzzles, and all three board games (2 SMDM and 1 Bionic Woman). I never got into the clothing, bed sheets, Halloween costumes, toothbrushes, or any of the other gimmicky stuff. I ended up getting rid of all but the essential Kenner stuff fairly early on, and the rest of the toys my mom probably threw out as I got older. But to this day, I still have my mint condition Kenner figures (all variations of all figures and all outfits—and a few MIB ones I picked up 10-15 years ago), all trading card sets, all paperback book editions, a huge collection of original scripts, hundreds of scrapbook pages filled with vintage magazine and newspaper ads and articles, original network and studio presskit and publicity materials, and over 800 original stills from both shows, just to name a few things off the top of my head. My photo albums, scrapbooks and magazine binders take up almost nine linear feet of shelf space! Yep, I'm a bionic geek.Awesome! Being such a major fan, did you/do you have Bionic Crisis? I got that for Christmas back in the day and man, is that is an awesome board game. Still have it in storage, though it's been years since I played it. Maybe I haven't played enough board games in my time (or I just have a dumb kid's memory of it), but as I recall, my friends and I couldn't get enough of that game. I don't remember all the particulars, but just remember that it was a lot of fun and had a lot more substance than the average movie/TV tie in. The pacing and skill level seemed to really suit the average person. The only other game we played back then that was even better was the board game version of D&D.Last edited by Mattildo; Nov 1, '11, 9:58 PM.Leave a comment:

Thanks! You're right: I am excited about the figures! It's been waaaay too long since Steve Austin & Co. saw the inside of a toy store!Again, super sweet! No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives here. Just genuine good stuff. The disclaimer, though a bit distracting, is probably a good idea, since these look so professional. Either way, it's really wonderful that you are so excited about these products and if at all possible, I hope you get a commission to do the actual design work. I only wish Bif Bang Pow! packages were as collector friendly as the EMCE resealable clam. Thus far, my Ming and Flash Gordon are still imprisoned on their "retro" packaging. I just hate like the Dickens to mess up those cards! Need to eventually order a couple more, but the collector dollar only goes so far these days.
I added the disclaimer to the images, since I didn't want them circulated and causing any confusion. If BBP asked me to take them down, I would. I just wanted to add some more excitement to the discussion. I have submitted several suggestions to BBP, and they have been very receptive in their responses. I'm extremely pleased that they are a company that interacts with their customers. It can make a big difference in the final product, while building customer loyalty.
My services are available to BBP, should they need or request them. I've contributed to several bionic projects over the years, but compensation has never been an issue for me. I'm just a life-long fan who is happy to help out when it comes to my favorite childhood hero. If I can help the product be just a bit better for me and my fellow collectors, well, that's cool with me!
