You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return... -
Finally!
This is great! I'm sure Apollo will be included this time! Can't wait! Any word on a target date for release?Wanted:- 12" Robin Shoes; Mego Batcave, Mego Die-cast Batman-loose, Mattel-BSG Gold Cylon loose.Comment

I fear that when it comes to properties thriving in the MEGO format, they should be associated with a currently running property (i.e. Venture Bros. or the like).
These niche vintage lines tend to die-out soon after the novelty has worn off.
Just my observation...Comment

If the Mego style lines only focused on current proprties like Venture Brothers I sure would not have anything to collect. I buy these figures because they are retro and focus on those properties from the past that are dear to my heart. These toys are to some of us what would have been if Mego had made better business decisions in some areas. Thanks to BBP, EMCE, Zica... we can now own a lot of the figures we so wanted as kids but were never produced. I have nothing against newer entertainment and enjoy some of it myself but it does not mean to me what the entertainment of the past that I grew up with does.
I think the figures will sell just fine. Probably better than any Galactica figures of the past because these will truely be Mego style figures. The 12 inch line a few years ago probably failed because they were 12 inch and very expensive. I know there is a fan base for 12 inch figures but I think most people here prefer the 8 inch format. There are a lot of great properties that have been produced in 12 inch format that I did not buy but would have had they been 8 inch.Comment

If I remember correctly, the Majestic figures were 30 dollars.
I wouldn't say that's expensive (for 12 inch figures).
The 12" Cylons did sell out. When Amoktime aquired the remaining stock from Majestic
they made a second production run of Cylons. And it seems that those are now sold out too.
The figures that didn't sell were the human characters, maybe because the head sculpts were not accurate.
I like the Majestic line and was hoping that some other company would produce additional 12" figures.
I don't need another line in a different scale.Last edited by Agent4125; Oct 14, '11, 1:19 PM.Comment

I will gladly pick up 30 figures of a BSG line and even more of Doctor Who. SMDM i'm not sure just how many they will come up with but i'll support it too. I saw the 12inch series but they were too big and too expensive to collect and i think that's why they don't succeed. Especialy with todays economy you really can't go too high cost collectibles and expect to make a long line succeed. I Think the Price Point of $30 even effected Zica's Buck Rogers line, they were amazing figures but were a little more expensive than most people could justify spending. The 8" format means that you can put these together with your MEGO's and other newer runs and have an amazing assortment in your collection. I am so looking forward to having The Doctor, Buck Rogers , Starbuck , Steve Austin and Capt Kirk all standing around each other."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of DoomComment

I just thought of something: imagine being in the 70s, and someone from the future says: "And in the new series, you'll see a Cylon in a red dress having sex with Baltar."
That would surely mess up your childhood....
