I've always like the Mego Spiderman a lot but he didn't really grab my heart until the guys at Wizard made him a star in the 90's in Toyfare. I still applaud them for their efforts in bringing recognition back to the line with their wonderful and smart *** interpretation of the character.

I wonder if there could have been a rubber mask similar to how Retro-Action did the Btman cowl with the slit in the back. If it had been a Peter Parker head, then the Spidey mask would have looked a bit over-sized however.
        It's all good!

Well, to be fair, Spider-man is kind of EASY.

A little piece of me dies every time a Mego fan complains about oven mitts.

I have been very partial to the oven mitts. I like them and here are my reasons:
I started on the ground floor with RM and RC and to me it was just natural for their gloves to be removable, too. Also, how can you turn to Bruce Wayne if your hands are blue?

That being said, I do not think they would have worked for Spidey since seeing his hands worked for playtime better for wall crawling fun rather than a mitten shape. Also, since the mask wasn't coming off, the hands could be red and not a be bother to me, either
            It's all good!

Since we were on the subject of the '67 show, here are some early rejects of Spideys design before they settled on the classic webless shirt version.
