    1974: Dinah-mite had a Snowmobile?

We’re kicking off 1974 Week with a revised look at Mego’s offering for Dinah-mite, the company’s ambitious attempt to to*gain ground in *the girl’s fashion doll market with this 8″ cutie. While the majority of Dinah’s items saw production, this repurposed version of the Action Jackson Snowmobile hasn’t surfaced in the secondary market. (Somebody please prove me wrong on this)

Be sure to check out the newly revised Mego 1974 Dinah Mite Catalog and see what Mego’s best and brightest came up with to conquer the girl’s market. Then cruise over to the MegoMuseum Dinah-mite gallery for more vintage gold. Got something to add to our galleries? Drop us a line.

Look for more 1974 Updates all the week as the MegoMuseum Revisits 1974! *

I'm surprised she's not dressed in one of the ski outfits or this.

I love that little dynamite sticker on the front. Did that appear on any of her other stuff? If not- Somebody get to repro'in'!

I remember the commercials for the ski chalet, the bicycle, the beach house and the gym, but nothing as far as this goes.

16 lbs? That's a bit weighty, but then it was supposed to be remote control, so I suppose that it worked out.

Maybe it was just a prototype photo of something that wasn't released? That might make more sense.

          Did AJ have a snowmobile?

I think the 16 pounds is for the whole case of 12.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

                Ah! Silly me.

Are there any good snowmobiles in that scale that we can customize?

Unclear to me--did the Ski Chalet actually come with the red snowmobile it describes?

Mines put away but doesn't it come with a little blue and white one?

This one looks like they grabbed an AJ model and simply mocked up some other stickers.

Yep, it actually looks like a Snowmobile too.

I swear I remember a Christmas catalog -- almost certainly Montgomery Wards -- showing Hombre/Fighting Yank in one of those snowmobiles.

BTW, I don't think I've seen the Dinah ads except the beach house ad. It was the onlu one I found after a lazy search of Youtube. Are there more out there?
