    "Space Command" Playset--1979 Sears

Each mention of Wishbook Web here costs me 10 minutes of my life in wandering around that website.

Anyone ever have one of these? I vaguely remember the ad from Sears.

I think Berto brought one to Megomeet one year.

      Were the Mego's really $4.66 apiece ?

That seems really expensive in the 70's

I think their appearance in the '79 Sears Catalog was strategic.

Paramount argued the movie was a seperate license, Mego disagreed and eventually won.

I have that. Picked it up from SPYWEB007 I believe. The opposite side converts to a recording studio to use with Barbie dolls. Cool console. Microphone and an AM radio.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I have one. Got it from 'Rummage-O-Rama" in WI in 1991. It's scaled for GIJoes, not Megos and Kirk just swims in that chair. On the flipside of the Space Command is a recording studio for Barbies.

Not really for the late 70's. I remember paying around $3.50 for my Kirk back in 1975 or so. And the littler Star Wars figures were $2.99-$3.50 in 1978-79. But I'm in Canada, so I'm not sure how much cheaper these things were in the States at that time.

Yeah, Kirk looks like he's a kid sitting at the grown up's table.

Still, I love stuff like this.

That Captain's Chair is very Next Generation. Eerie foreshadowing.
