As a kid I never understood the bent knee mold. I was so accustom to the articulation of a 8 inch Mego, that it didn't make sense to have one permanently posed like he was ready to take a dump.

I get what the guy was saying about "liking" certain characters. Me and my friends "cast" ourselves as certain characters. I was always Batman. My friend was Robin. His brother was every villain. He wanted to be a villain, and now he's...a LAWYER!!! Coincidence? I think not.

Anyway, when a new catalog would come out (Super Powers, MOTU, GI Joe:RAH, Transformers, M.A.S.K., etc) we'd all pick out guys we were going to "play". We would occasionally trade characters, but it was pretty rigid. Weird, huh?

Cute article. My friends and I always did cut "deals" as to who got to play what. It was kind of like choosing sides for a ball game before you start to play.
