Where can I get 1970's Mego toys repaired?

    Hi...

I live in Central New Jersey, and I recently came across a bunch of my old Mego toys (Superheroes) from the '70s. Many have unattached limbs, broken rubber attachments, etc. What I need is for someone to help me fix them up. I know there are do-it-yourself instructions to be found, but does anyone do repairs for a reasonable fee?

    Thanks,

    Pete

im sure you can find someone to help fix them somewhere here in the forums. also you might want to check on drmego.com. they sell replacement parts if you arent to fussy about having everything original. sometimes in the forum you can find original parts to if your lucky. good luck..

You're probably best to simply go buy repro parts and bodies from Doc Mego if you've got broken limbs etc.

You could use the info available on the museum.

Hover over the tips and tricks bar on the LH side for more ideas too.

Sounds like he mostly needs help with restringing, is there a MM member that lives nearby (to him) that could meet at, say, a public library and restring his Megos?

                Mego Repair

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Yes, if there is anyone in the NJ area who would be willing to do the repairs, I'd be interested. I did some repair work of some 3 3/4 inch GI JOe figures a while back, and while I eventually got the hang of that, it wasn't exactly a fun experience for me (I get frustrated easily. )

So that would be my preference, if anyone's up for it. But I am going to lay everything out and see what I've got, maybe take some pictures and go from there. I'll keep you all posted.

Among other things, I know I need replacements for some of the body elastics, and I think the Hulk is missing the lower half of a leg outright. Any ideas on where to acquire those?

                Thanks again,

                Pete

Welcome Pete,I would have a look on customego like English Paul said,i repaired my Type 2 Batman, who had a busted leg at the knee with JP Kempo's knee pin removal technique and i am currently fixing my FF Spiderman.

If your looking for parts, why not put something in the Marketplace of what your looking for?Someone may have some spares.
