Can anyone recommend good alternatives to the Action Stallion for putting my gorillas on horseback? I really dislike the Action Stallion in the first place, and the price...goodness gracious. Would Barbie horses do the trick? Any other ideas?

I think a lot of people use Breyer Horses or cheaper knock-offs. They don't have articulation and are a bit more detailed that Mego would have done, but they are pretty much in scale. -

The only horse I've found that look right to me is the horses from the
1960's Bonanza line. Although its vintage, they don't seem to go for much. I have two I got on ebay for around $25 each.

Breyer's traditional line is 1:9 scale. The horses do not come with
saddles or bridle and usually retail for $25.Comment

I tried selling some breyer horses but there was little interest for them.
I was more disappointed in the lack of bridle and saddle than I was
in their lack of poseability. The best horse was the Gabriel Lone Ranger ones.Comment
