    Good Horse for Apes?

Can anyone recommend good alternatives to the Action Stallion for putting my gorillas on horseback? I really dislike the Action Stallion in the first place, and the price...goodness gracious. Would Barbie horses do the trick? Any other ideas?

I think a lot of people use Breyer Horses or cheaper knock-offs. They don't have articulation and are a bit more detailed that Mego would have done, but they are pretty much in scale.

The only horse I've found that look right to me is the horses from the
1960's Bonanza line. Although its vintage, they don't seem to go for much. I have two I got on ebay for around $25 each.

Breyer's traditional line is 1:9 scale. The horses do not come with
saddles or bridle and usually retail for $25.

Seen a couple on Ebay, they look very detailed but what about the scale compared to a POTA figure?

Doc, I managed to score a horse and a saddle/girl/bucket add-on set for $40 combined. You manage to save my bacon even when you're not selling me stuff. Thanks again.

I tried selling some breyer horses but there was little interest for them.

I was more disappointed in the lack of bridle and saddle than I was
in their lack of poseability. The best horse was the Gabriel Lone Ranger ones.
