Thinking of Getting Back Into Planet of the Apes...

Does anyone else have the itch to build (or expand) their Planet of the Apes collection now that the movie is out (and surprisingly good)? I've been out for a while, but....that old familiar feeling is back.

I'm not the most experienced Mego collector, so I have a few questions:

1. What should I expect to pay for an Urko?

2. If I choose to try to build my own Urko out of reproduction parts, does anyone offer the chestpiece? I couldn't find it on Dr. Mego's site.

3. Does anyone sell red and green jumpsuits suitable for customizing Conquest figures?

4. Has anyone ever customized the Mutants from Beneath? I've been poking through all the Apes customs on the board this morning (Jessica, you're my hero), but didn't find one. Kind of surprising.

Hopefully I'm not alone in my renewed enthusiasm.

The Apes are a great line! Although the recent movie hasn't really moved me to collect more, I'd say I'm always focused on them I still think the Apes got the best Playsets Mego made.

As for customs, I'm pretty sure I've seen some Conquest jumpsuits around here, but I'm not sure who made them. I don't think I've seen repro Urko stuff done on a larger run. Just indiviual figures.

I think Castaway had some jumpsuits on their site. Might be able to bleach/dye them to the appropriate color.

Thanks for the heads-up on the chest piece, Nostalgiabuff. A nice guy by the name of rche sent me a private message where he broke down what I should expect to pay for an Urko. Just for everyone's general (pardon the pun) information, he was thinking about 60-65, which seems to be accurate given the one I lost out on on ebay this week.

I'm still surprised I haven't seen a custom of a human mutant. Oh well. Maybe it'll be my first real custom attempt.
