The Mego Museum Interview with Chris Kublan

If there was ever a childhood to envy it would be Chris Kublan's, his dad Neal Kublan was vice President of Research and Development for Mego Corp, meaning he made our favourite toys.

Chris gave us some fun insight into the inner workings of Mego and what was like to grow up during the companies hottest times.

Very cool interview Brian. Sounds like he had a great time himself at Mego.

Wow, I can't even imagine that childhood- all the Megos you could want AND getting to see all that behind the scene stuff. Thanks for sharing that side of Mego.

I can't even imagine how cool it would have been to grow up in that environment. It would be like being the main quality insurance inspector for Santa Claus and his elves (with Dad being Santa Claus). He obviously had a great relationship with his Dad. I really appreciate his sharing those memories with us.

Great insight into the 1970's toy world. What a life some kids had

So glad I met his dad before he passed - not to mention having him see one of my customs and flip. Having met Ken Abrams at the same time and hearing his stories I thought he was the luckiest kid in the world. I guess some other kids were just as lucky. That Apes float was off the hook, but I would have killed to meet Kiss _ without the makeup to boot.

Somebody gave me a cookie and then I went to sleep, which is a lot like now.

Wow, and that was only a few of his memories! Just imagine having a dad at Mego in its heyday! He probably could write a book! I wonder what his bedroom/playroom looked like back then?

And being on that Apes float, and meeting Shatner & Nimoy must have been a blast!
