    I've met a REAL-LIFE Mego!

    Hi guys,
Here's a funny one I thought you guys would like; About 15 years ago when I was in college I used to be drinking buddies with a guy who knew Richard Thomas (aka John Boy Walton). Richard would stop by his house regularly when I was there and we'd all proceed to mix drinks until the wee hours. At first it was a little intimidating, but then you saw that he was just a really nice guy. However, I NEVER got used to the fact that it was John Boy Walton we were drinking with. I used to say to him "Dude, do you know that you're a MEGO!". And he'd always reply, "I didn't know you spoke Spanish", and we'd all crack up laughing. Richard lives in NY City now and I'm here in Kentucky. But I'm sure we'll cross paths again since his hometown of Paintsville is only about 15 miles from here. Here, have a look:

That's us back in the day. (Actually it was about 2am one night). Again, I thought you fellas would get a kick out of this.

I love the Waltons. I watch it every morning on GMC before I go to work. I really didn't watch too much as a kid, b/c there were other things on before bedtime I wanted to watch, and it really wasn't cool to watch the Waltons, Little House was cooler. But I've always thought Richard Thomas was a great actor, (even when he played a psychotic killer! ), and John-Boy was the cutest hick ever! Thanks for sharing that pic!

That's fantastic, thanks for showing us that.

I got to visit the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. The Walton's house is still there. From what I understand the employees enjoy hanging out on the porch having...a smoke.
