    Another Great Comic Ad

This great ad for the Mego World's Greatest Superheroes was provided by Rob Kelly, creator of the great Aquaman Shrine. Note how illustrations of Mego Comic Action Heroes are being used to sell the 8" figures.

A Batcopter with a blue front is interesting. I know its a mistake, but it actually looks better that way!

Wonder Woman looks more like a man there than the real CAH figure!

Ah, the days of hand-drawn ads. Such variety and quirkiness. Lost forever.

I remember the Hero world comics. I used to look at them all the time and see the Mego stuff.

Problem is my parents would never order me anything out of a comic book.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

the best ads. and remember the saturday morning TV ads in the centers of the comics . I still cut up comics for those. ROM comics are great for all of those.

I think the facts that the drawings were of actual figures (rather than drawings of the heroes) made me want them even more. I could visualize those 8" beauties as a reality.

I think these ads, in terms of spreading "mego information" may have been the most important things when were kids. Wishbooks only came out once a year, commercials usually for the fall season but these ads ran all year.

This is where I found out about the Titans, Fantastic Four, Thor, Conan etc. These ads sent me to the stores looking for these figures, the outcome however was disapointing....

How many of these comics did Heroes World release? Just curious, because I dig them (and have several). Thanks in advance...

http://www.toyadz.com ...has made a great site on the vintage ads for sale. mostly a rip off because all of them ca be found in comics but some people don't realize that. it's a great reference site anyway.

Love how they say it's "The bigger than ever Batcopter." That and the Mangler saying "I'm Mean" making it seem like to a child that it talks.

I think there were somewhere between 7-10 of those comic-type catalogs. Most just said Superhero Catalog on the front. Romita did do some of the art in them but not in all of them, only the later ones.
