What is it with people and over pricing stuff to the extremes? Do they just like taking stuff with them to show for a conversational piece or what? Chances are at the prices they are asking for most of the stuff that is what it will end up being is just a conversational piece.

The pricing over an above what you'd see online is what I'm coming to call an "in person buyer's premium". Sure you can get cheaper online but it want to buy it right here, right now the a lot dealers seem to think they can inflate prices. With today's smart phones I can't say that is a sound strategy. Earlier this month I was a comic convention in Philadelphia and was easily able to price check some silver age books on Ebay vs. what dealers were selling them for.
Needless to say I did not purchase any of those books.Comment

i agree that in person price tends to be higher
you can get impulse buyers
you don't have any mystery in the quality of product
No paying for shipping or waiting
you don't have to put your trust in a stranger shipping
you can find uneducated sellers and buyers
you can have the fun of finding a toy in the real world vs the virtual
i'm not saying this doubles or triples value but certainly increases price
AND it is SUPER expensive to get a booth at SDCC!!!!
while most were way over priced there were some quite reasonable - MC spock $15 + 0 shippingComment

plus I think prices are so overpriced cause they expect you to haggle on the price with them...every show I've been to, I usually ask"Is the best or lowest you can go?" and they usually go down a bit"Time to nut up or shut up"-Tallahassee

And rare as you pointed out to me a few years back.
Air Force: Action Jackson Gallery: Mego Museum
I believe where as the Dina helmets are completely black with no pigment Racing Around: Dinah-Mite Gallery: Mego Museum , you said the AJ helmets were a bluish black. Even cooler if this is the case. I believe you had one..as I recall Brian?..It's been awhile.Last edited by hobub; Jul 24, '11, 4:07 PM.Comment
