Mego of the Week : S-A-L-U-T-E!

In honor of the new Captain America movie opening this week today on Mego of the Week we look at ALL things Captain America Mego produced. As one of the first Marvel characters Mego introduced he made it into many of the lines including the WGSH, Bend n’ Flex, Comic Action, Pocket Heroes and 12″ers. Not to mention getting his own ride. Sweet…. For more information on this piece visit the Captain America page at the Mego Museum.

Very appropriate choice! Loved seeing all the Mego cap stuff, too!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Cap was one I had as a kid. I doubt the sleeves issue ever bothered me then. But why he couldn't at least have been made with red over mitts is still an unanswered question.

I think he would have been able to, especially a T1.

Not for me.. Having grown up with the CA Captain America, I was frankly disappointed, after seeing the elaborate detail of Batman and Robin.. Imagine them with no gloves or wrong colored sleeves. The Kirby eyes were a bit much as well, especially during the Buscema days..

I like Captain America because of his neat patriotic costume. I remember watching Captain America when I was a kid.

When I saw the title, first thing pooped into my head "when did they make Hee Haw figures?" I mean we had Dukes and Waltons, you'd think that.

Adding on to my earlier post (done on my BB, so couldn't wax thoughts for too long...), I first saw both him and Spidey at a local five-dime store.. I had to choose only one, so despite my intense love of Cap, I chose Spidey.

'Course I had to get Cap next. LOVE the character, my all-time favorite hero, so despite the shortcomings, he's still beloved.

I had many an 8" Cap figure as a kid. One thing I can't stress enough is that the shield threw really, REALLY well. Like a mini Frisbee, just like it should. Of course I lost a shield or two because of this, I'm sure...

I now own the Cap car, and it is a sweet piece of Detroit steel...er Asian plastic.
