Gloves in the belt?

I see a lot of guys and gals keep their WGSH Megos' gloves tucked into their belts. What's the main reason for this? Keeping them from splitting with age? Just curious, really. I have a Batman with CTVT gloves I do this with, because they don't fit him very well.

I have seen that I would be afraid that the gloves may end up with a permanent crease in them over time I just leave mine on there hands. I'm not sure but I'm thinking it is so they dont slip off and get lost.

I can understand keeping them off of the hands, for fear that the gloves may split, but my rule is that if the gloves have NEVER been removed then I won't remove them. . . .on the other HAND, if the gloves have been removed, then I will store them lying next to the figure inside of the plastic case so that I don't force them on.
