    Intro, or maybe re-intro

    Hi,
My name is Wes Wood & I collect action figures

Some of ya'll may remember me, i used to be a member of the old mailing list, and I see some familiar names. Definately remember Lou Melegrano (great site BTW, spent a couple hours there over the weekend) Joe DeRouen is a familiar name, and of course everybody who was into Megos 12-15 years ago knows Paul Clark was THE MAN to go to for repro parts. Sorry if you remember me, but I can't remember you.

I tend to drift from hobby to hobby, from Megos to 1/6 scale action figures to airsoft to 1/72 plastic soldiers to leatherwork.... It's not that I lack commitment, I just get bored easily.

I'm primarily a customizer, I "specialize" in leatherwork, but I also have made scale weapons out of styrene & even steel, and have done some sewing for my own purposes. Some of ya'll may even have some of my work. If anybody wants to see, I have some photos on photobucket. Unfortuneatley, it' all 1/6 scale stuff.

I'm not into super heros, I tend towards fantasy, western and military.

I'm really impressed with the Museum, ya'll have come a long way.

Nice to meet you Wes. I would like to hear about what you have created out of steel at such a small size. That sounds like a complicated or very patience oriented process.

Mostly 1/6 scale swords & knives. Usually brass sheet for the hilts/handguard & a variety of materials for the grips- leather, bone beads, thread. I'm not forging them by any means, just grinding cheap dollar store steak & butcher knoves to shape, then grips & hilts. Although I did attempt to hammer some sheet steel into articulated plate. I desided the coolness factor wasn't worth the effort.

It's been about 10 years since I tried to post a photo on a forum, not sure I'm remembering right.
