Ok, so we know some of you made couch cushion forts in the living room, and took your Batcaves out in the yard. But were there any places around your neighborhood that were just made for playing w/ Megos? A cool monkey bar set-up at the playground? The creek near the park? A vacant lot? Your best friends treehouse? What were some of the places outside your home that just had action figure adventures written all over them?

Favorite placecs (besides home) to play w/ your Megos
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Tags: None -
Recess at school was a great place to have them, seemed like not everyone back then had all of them.So it was a chance to see alot of them together. The park near by was another fun place, not only because Batman got to ride on the handle bars of my bike, but he loved to go down the big slide. -
When the snow plows pushed all the snow to the vacant lot down the street, it became the arctic wilderness where GI Joe hunted the yeti and also a mountain range for the Hulk to lurk. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

The only Megos I ever took from the house were the Star Trek ones, and always took the enterprise playset too. it traveled to strange new worlds! (anywhere mom and dad would let me drag it...lolComment

I only took the Megos that had no pieces to loose so Captain Marvel and Superman got out quite a bit. Batman and Robin, not so much. When I did take them out, usually I tried to create play environments like I saw in the Mego Commercials. Sand and large rocks, etc. No one place was my go to place. It's all good!Comment

Back in the day it was my bedroom on the bed with the covers for mountains and secret caves.
Present day - My man cave! It is the only space big enough outside of my house to hold and display all of the Mego goodness.Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009
Too much space. Need more toys!

Back in the 70's, my cousin Cliff lived in one of the greatest places to play. His dad worked for Holcomb Construction in Reno, Nv and they lived in a mobile home located on the property that served as the company's storage yard. All of the heavy equipment, supplies, and the repair shop were located within the fenced acreage. We had cranes, forklifts, and other machines to play on as well as gigantic pipes to crawl through, cement barriers to climb on, and even a huge junkpile loaded with interesting stuff to explore. I don't even know what 80% of the stuff was, but if it was used in construction, it was there. It was a dirt wonderland. There was no lawn anywhere except by the main office, but we didn't need grass. We had dirt. And the owner's son even used one of the storage units for his rock band to practice in, which was cool because they'd let us hang out and listen.
There were so many cool places to play with our action figures, and without them for that matter. It was like an entire universe for Megos and other toys. During the summer months, we'd gather up whatever toys we were going to use and disappear into the "yard", only returning for lunch or drinks or bathroom breaks. My aunt must have loved it. The "yard" was our babysitter. I'm sure it would be considered hazardous by today's standards, but the only injuries we ever got were minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises. I miss those days.

My buddy Dave back in the mid-70s seemed to have nearly EVERYTHING WSGH, primarily DC. Most of the cool Marvel figures in the last wave was after our time.
His house was neat, he had all the Bat vehicles, but I'd bring over my Joe AT Headquarters as the Batcave.
My other buddy had all the Mego Trek and Mattel 1999 items, so I'd play with them over there, with occasional Batman play.
Seeing I only had a half-dozen Megos, being at their houses was 'Mego-rific..'

There was a big tree on the corner hill in the apartment complex were we lived. Being on a hill, the dirt had eroded on one side, leaving a veritble 8-inch jungle of roots in which to play. We also walked through a large drainage pipe to make our way over to the creek where the play continued.WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.Comment
