Just an estimate is fine. Sometimes it seems like a really small community, when two of us can mention someone selling on eBay and immediately know who he is. Sometimes it also seems pretty tight around here, and I wouldn't want to knowingly try to outbid a member here, because there's always another chance for something. I'm just curious what you guys and gals would estimate the whole community--us as well as people that have never joined (I was buying Megos off eBay before I knew of the Museum, as I'm sure many do)--at, population-wise. Maybe 8,000 people on the planet, including very casual fans? I have no idea, honestly.

I would guess in the world there's a about 100 hard core people, 1000 semi hard core people, and thousands upon thousands of novices who dabble to different degrees. -
Mego Collectors in one form or another...probably in the 5K - 10K range. The thing you have to remember is that Mego crossed over into SOOOOOO Many genres. Though they may not be Mego collectors....Doll collectors probably account for another 2K - 5K Mego collectors. How many Doll collectors you know that have lines such as the Wizard Of Oz, Happy Days, Waltons, Little Rascals etc. Even going back to the late 60's early 70's you had Dawn and Dizzy Girl stuff that can be classified as Mego figure collecting....so in my opinion it may be very difficult to judge just exactly how many mego collectors might be out there."When not too many people can see we're all the same
