    BLACK HOLE Prototypes Discovered

    Hello All-

Glad to be here, this is my first post. Some of you may know me from the Star Wars and Masters of the Universe markets. I have been actively involved in the collecting community for the past 20 years.

We recently signed a deal with a client to broker a private collection of models and castings from over 25 years in the toy industry. We discovered these three resin hardcopies among the inventory, and was hoping for some feedback.

From what I know after speaking to my client, these are the Hardcopy masters for MEGOS "The Black Hole." line of figures. They are twice the size of the 3" figures, and beautifully painted and detailed.

The S.T.A.R and Maximillan figures speak for themselves, but was hoping to find information on Vincent/Old Bob. It appears to be almost a hybrid.

This early Vincent/Old Bob figure shows characteristics not seen on other figures. My client describes this as "the original, very first model for Mego."

Can anyone help shed light on these? As far as I know, these are the first to surface.

Thanks so much in advance, I hope to be active here in the future months.

    Jordan Hembrough

That B.O.B. was possible done as "first mission B.O.B." when The Cygnus was first Launched.
remember 20 years of being abused by Max takes its toll
and possible were going to release him in a future assortment
    nice 2 up masters!

This is news to me... are you saying they were going to release "first mission BOB" as a release after the Humanoid, etc?

      THanks so much,

Thanks for sharing these Jordan, I have a contact (the same one who provided us with Prototype Vincent and Bob shots here) who worked at Mego that might be able to shed some light on this, I will contact him.

Amazing! The sentry Droid looks like it has some pieces of Takara's Time/Space Traveler Timanic in its design. (Hands, shoulder joint attachments.)

                      Micro Heritage - Timanic

Mego would have had access to pieces of Takara products to adapt, via their Micronauts license.

I thought Mego did sculpts in that period 1/1? If that's true, then could these instead be mockups for a larger line, or initial sculpts later broken down for to engineering the Black Hole magno-power figures?

                            Thanks everyone,

I'll get more photos of these posted soon. Just and FYI for all... the arms and heads all move. These are fully functioning models and all the parts replicate their smaller production counterparts.

Anyone have any more information about the Vincent/BOB? Is still a mystery.

                            Best to all-

These are phenomenal, makes me wish they had come out when I was a kid. I was absolutely FASCINATED with the Black Hole.
