I finally got 1 picture to upload and it was just a headshot of an aqualad figure. then i figured out it was the smallest sized file i had. how do i take a photo so as not to be too large format wise to be uploadable?

Where are you hosting your pics? I have my Photobucket set to convert all my pics to 640x480 automatically when i upload them..... so it doesn't matter what size i take them at. Also, my camera has a setting to take pics at lower resolution, you might check yours for the same.

Right click on your picture in Photobucket

Select "photo properties" then copy the link that comes up.

in your customs post here, type in [img]

Paste the link you just copied right next to the img ... no spaces

at the end of the link, type in [/img] ...once again, no spaces between the link and the brackets.

I know I've said this before, but if we can load our avatars and galleries by browsing in our computer files, why can't we load pics the same way? The fact that they need to be hosted by another site doesn't make sense to me. It's like instead of going directly from point A to point B you have to go thru C & D first. I saw all the work Jess has to go thru to post pics, and I won't do that on principle alone. Yeah, I know...I'm hardheaded and stubborn, but I can't be the only one who feels this way....can I?

I haven't done it yet, but it looks like you can if you upload them to the User Gallery here. The limit appears to be 10 MB total.

EDIT: Nevermind, i see you mentioned the gallery in your post already, sorry .

Image files not only take server space, but they take bandwidth every time someone looks at them.

The best thing to do for the museum financially is to upload your pictures on another site like photobucket, using their space and bandwidth.

Photobucket even had a field that will automatically copy either the image url or even the IMG tag.
