Green Arrow was my fave. always loved the molded cowl batman and spiderman and superman as well. Thor was a great sculpt. great accessories. as an adult GG is also one of my favorites. just a really cool figure

Hmm. I hear a lot of subjective opinions and declarations of what everyone's favorite Mego is. That's fine. My favorite Mego is Superman.

But.

Removable Cowl Batman is the greatest Mego ever made. Period.

There were, obviously, many better sculpts, many more detailed and more accurate figures, and as is the case with Spider-man, more beloved figures.

But RCB embodies everything that made Mego great. In one figure you have all these features:

Play value! It's one of the few Megos to take advantage of the costume change ability the figures have. Even without having the Bruce Wayne suit you had a hero that transformed into someone else.

The BEST Mego accessory--they are still trying to beat the RM Cowl and haven't done it yet. Perfect fit...the eyes looking through the mask...that fantastic blue rubber. I had one as a kid and touching one again for the first time 30 years later was the closest I'll ever get to time travel.

Oven mitts. The very DEFINITION of Mego charm.

The belt is perfect.

Sticker insignia. Totally imperfect, destined to be lost, easily improved upon later. But that only makes an RCB with an original sticker all the better.

The CLASSIC Mego hero boot--in 2 styles--skinny and regular.

If you get it in a solid box you've got one of the most desireable American Megos ever made, second only to the same figure on a Kresge card.

History! It's one of the original 4 super hero figures that changed the toy industry when it came out. And of the 4 only Superman rivals it as far as importance, and considering how much money Mego made off of the Batman line--4 villains, 4 vehicles, 2 playsets, there's no doubt that Batman is the greatest of the 4 and thus the greatest Mego.

A Mego collection is not complete without one.
