OK. We have all heard the stories of when we first saw a WGSH in a store or catalog. I've told my end cap/solid box TRU story quite a few times.
So, with that in mind, what was your last Mego from when you were a kid? Was it a Pocket Hero? Buck Rogers? A 8" Hulk in the early 80's?
Obviously, I have bought more as an adult, in this century, but around 1978 I had acquired a roll of magnet tape. I remembered seeing Magnetic Batman & Robin and thought it would make more sense to have a magnet Spider-Man. I took some saved money and got (what was then) a third 8" Spider-Man (I already had a circle suit and a T1). The one I got was also in a box and was a T1, too, with thick stripes on his uniform. I put strips of magnet on this feet knees, cuffs, back, etc. and since he was T1, he couldn't hit a crouch all that well, so he kept falling off my refrigerator.
At the time, I had thought only Treks were T2 (and of course terms like T1 and T2 weren't even a concept to me then - I thought Trek or Superhero look to the body), but it never occurred to me that these little clothed figures wouldn't always be around for me to buy when I wanted to. Always thought I would have the chance to change my mind and go get that Iron Man or weird looking Gorn if I wanted to.
