Greetings and Salutations
Hello everyone -
The header tells me that I should introduce myself by posting in this forum. My name is Derek, and I am a newcomer to this community. I had all of the trek megos as a child, and kept them for many years until I was forced to sell to take care of my kids during hard times. I honestly never thought I would be able to afford to start collecting them again - -then I recently discovered the reproductions! My wife has been very encouraging (wanting me to get these as much as I do). I was very pleased with the quality of the reproductions, but found that the aliens weren't on the 'correct' cards. Being someone who has no intentions of trying to pass these off as originals, I decided I wanted to correct this oversight and create reproduction backers based on the original design. This of course led me to find the Mego Museum, and these forums!
I now have plans to build a Talos and Neptunian for my collection, since the good Dr. Mego offers the parts to do so. I am also working on a new custom figure of Rick Grimes from the Walking Dead (so anyone with any suggestions on good materials or methods to use when doing custom work, I would be very appreciative!).
Feel free to contact me anytime - my strong points so far lie in card reproduction and original design (which I imagine folks who do that kind of work here are a dime a dozen) - but if I can help you out, I will be more than happy to do so.
