That first pic looks like it's from around 1986 or so. He's been collecting for a long time.
Some of those Misfits 45's in the pic are worth a pretty penny now too.

        Pictures by spdrmn77 - Photobucket

I hope the above link works- I doubt if I'll ever learn to properly post pictures here. The link goes to my photobucket account and shows 3 pictures.

One of the pics is the inside of my Misfits box set. It is a coffin shaped box with red velvet interior. I waited to meet Glenn after a concert last year. There were quite a few people waiting, so his handlers kind of rushed everyone along. Each person got a 5 second interaction with him- say hello, get your autograph, get out of the way. When it was my turn, Glenn took my box set cover and proceeded to spend a few minutes drawing on it. My friend & I looked at eachother wondering what he was doing. When Glenn handed it back to me, I saw that he had drawn a demonic looking character with the Misfits' trademark devillock hair style- along with his autograph. I don't know what inspired Glenn to go the extra mile and produce some original artwork for me, but it is one of my most valued possessions. One of his security guys joked about putting it up on ebay- I told him there was NO chance of that EVER happening.

The other 2 pictures (more pertaining to toys) are limited edition Glenn Danzig figures released by Medicom a few years back. As already mentioned, Glenn has a passion for Japanese toys, so it wasn't surpising to see that Medicom was the first company he would allow produce a figure of him. One of the pictures is a young Glenn, how he appeared in the Misfits. The other picture is Glenn's modern look. These figures are rotocast vinyl and very well detailed.

Anyway, that's my contribution to the Glenn & toys discussion.

That's an awesome story about meeting Glenn! I saw Danzig on the Lucifuge tour when Danzig was opening for Black Sabbath. Unfortunately, my friends and I had never been to the place that they were playing before. We got lost and only caught the end of Danzig's set.

I realize that there is no way this would have happened, but I sure do wish that 21st Century Toys had released a 12" Danzig figure that could have gone along with the Jerry and Doyle figures that they released in the 90s.

Speaking of the Jerry and Doyle figures, I heard that there was an exclusive Michael Graves figure released at some point too. Has anyone ever heard about a Michael Graves figure to go along with The Misfits set?
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Great story, MegoMike. I wouldn't sell that box set either (I love that box set, I was listening to it the other day). It's cool that Medicom did those figures, I just wish they did a 12" figure as well (hey, they did a Balzac one, so why not??)

Those figures were great, I wish they had made a Danzig one too. I never heard of a Michael Graves figure being made. He and Dr. Chud are advertised as "coming soon" on the Jerry and Doyle boxes, but I don't think either one made it.

Don't tell him that! He'll go all "London Dungeon" on you! Naw, Glenn seems like a really cool guy. I hope to meet him some day.

"I don't wanna be in your London dungeon"....one of my favourite 'Fits songs.

He's really quiet and not a hard *** when you meet him in real life. He is friendly but doesn't offer too much of a conversation. I felt like I had to ask the questions to get him to talk.

I got those those Misfits 12" figures when they were released. I since sold them. I really don't like music related toys, though I do hope to get a complete set of Mego Kiss stuff figures some day. I prefer Misfits when they were a dark and violent DIY underground band, before they became the kiss of punk with lunchboxes and useless merchandise at Hot Topic (thanks, Jerry Only).

I had some Misfits 7" records too, foolishly sold them. But I still have all the Samhain stuff on vinyl.

Awesome. Danzig has been a favorite of mine since way back! It's too bad that there are no Misfits Megos around out there! Maybe if Bif Bang Pow could do an Anthrax figure Danzig wouldn't be out of the question. Surely Ozzy wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilty either!
