I know a very talented guy overseas who makes high quality cast reproduction parts. I've had him make VERY valuable Japanese POPY parts that come out extremely nice.
I just sent off a set of wings, landing gear, engines, and front guns for the Buck Rogers Starfighter. Since those parts are ALWAYS missing and I have a few bodies in need of parts I figured I'd give it a try.
He has the parts now and I have to finalize the number I want made. Since these have to be sent to Asia to be done properly, shipping costs are high so I usually make only one run, then that's it.
If anyone is interested in some parts, better speak now. Once I get my originals back, that’s it.
So here's the deal on the part since I doubt anyone has seen the ones I’ve done for my robots
1. Parts are hand cast, but let’s be clear they are usually VERY smooth and extremely high quality
2. Parts are cast IN COLOR. No painting required (e.g., the landing gear + wings will be white, the guns will be the same color gray)
3. Hollow parts will be hollow – so the guns won’t be a big brick of heavy plastic.
So I expect the parts will be nice. They won’t, however, be cheap. Expect to pay ~ $10 / pair for each part, maybe $15 for a set of wings.
