Yeah, I wouldn't mess with the stitches. Turning mego outfits inside out is a royal pain in the ***. If you can make it to MegoMeet I'd love to see the SS Supergirl. I've brought Web Hand to MegoMeet I think 3 out of the 6 years (This year being the sixth)...It's cool having your figure in with that display from a whole bunch of Megoheads that contribute each year. Ron, Dave Mc, Chris DVM, Palitoy and a whole bunch of other fellow Megoheads. You should try to make the Meet.

Oh I.....gotta live one here!
Dude, you just need to relax. No need for drama. All we are doing is asking questions. There are no "Mego Gods" here. What you have to understand is that when there are new discoveries they will be questioned.
I'll give you an example of a common figure that has a variation that some on the museum won't believe if it is on a loose figure...Falcon with normal hands and not ape hands. I have one that I got from an antique dealer that I KNOW knew absolutely nothing about toys. I'm convinced that it's the real deal. Some here would say "If it's not carded...it's probably hands that have been replaced." I still say that it's the real deal...but have accepted the fact that there are some that think it's not. We're just asking questions...not trying to crucify you...so just take a breather.
Course I still think I have at least one leg to stand on....there's at least a photo of an actual variant (or 'error'......"it's just a matter of semantics that I don't wanna get beatin' up for") in the fold-out booklet that was distributed by Mego and looks exactly like mine....wonder if that one had a tag on the inside of it?
This is fun....we should do this more often!Comment

Easy there.....it's a neat piece. Here's another example for you that may be more pertinent: Several months ago, I was in the market for a silkscreen Catwoman with blue legs. They came up on Ebay fairly regularly, but I passed on several before I finally went after one. There was a ton of "variation" between the screening on the boots, the gloves, and the break in the different blues around the crotch area. I waited until I found one that I liked and went for it. Your Supergirl reminds me of that. I honestly think that the different paintmasks on the faces of the two you have pictured is just as interesting as the suits themselves.
Another "variant" in my eyes is the WW with the larger stars. I'm not trying to rain on your parade; perhaps it's merely semantics here between what I'm saying and what you are saying. I'm convinced it's legit; the grain of the fabric and the depth of the silkscreen are much different than any of the customs or fakes I've seen.
I love variants......and I hope one day to get one of the large stars WW figures! She's a Beauty!
Seriously though I do appreciate you guys posting your thoughts.....just wish there were some way to know for sure. Well only time will tell I suppose.
Now......would it be better to burn my SS Supergirl or do the Kryptonite killing on live pay per view??? Anyone? Bueler, Bueler, Bueler......??? (KIDDING)Comment

Do you think I could feel around in her stockings for a tag? Honestly I didn't know about the tags as I've never removed any of my figures' costumes in fear of pulling the fabric and getting a run or popping a stitch or two. I know my Captain Action Super Heroes have the tags in the back upper torso on the right side (when viewing the figure from the back) and that doesn't involve taking the costume off or anything of the like.
I really do want to come to one of the meets but it will most likely be 2012 before I can make it. My friend Greg Thomas and I have spoken about maybe meeting up there as I'm in Atlanta and he's in Texas. Hey I know Chris Johnson.......he lives 5 minutes from me and I've purchased a 13" boxed Denys Fisher Power Action Superman as well as a 12.5" boxed Mego Captain America figure from him....love'em both.
I don't mean to ruffle any feathers Blue Meanie......I'm just a sarcastic lil sh*t but I'm harmless....honest! But I do appreciate all you guys here on the MM forum.Comment

I don't consider this anything more than a production deviation. Mego was no small scale operation. They certainly used more than one screen to create each of the figures, so variances have to be there. Maybe because of the short run of the SS gals, this sticks out a little more. If I wanted to, I could show an enormous degree of variation in Penguin and Joker suits that don't look anything like one another. I don't think anyone would get very excited over it. I know I've seen someone try to show a slew of different Spiderman standard (non CSS) suit variations and I don't think anyone really cared either.
I think what you should do is send this suit to a friend of yours, see if he could carefully pull it apart at the seams and then reproduce it so everyone could have the chance to enjoy one. You could even maybe start a huge thread to chronicle it.Comment

Seriously though I wouldn't mind seeing the 'product deviations' in the other silk screened figures outside of the SuperGals as I'm pretty knowledgeable about them (save for my 'product deviation') more so than I am about the Joker and Penguin deviations.
