Cards still being sold on ebay

There are 6 Museum card currently listed on ebay. This shouldn't be allowed.

I'm kind of surprised that ebay is allowing this copyright violation, I know that Brad has contacted ebay about this. A few year ago I tried to sell some 1960's Batman tv show dvd's that I had edited to include edited out footage and I couldn't because someone said it was a copyright violation and ebay pulled the auction, no question ask. So why they aren't doing anything about these card auctions I don't know.

I guessing because ebay probably thinks they're offical and not customs.

Best they (and everyone outside) keeps thinking this

I have mentioned this in several threads, and sadly, they will continue to be sold on E-Bay, there seems to be no way to control/stop this...

I'm not sure if there is any 'legal recourse' that Brian might take, if he would want to take it that far.....maybe a 'cease and desist' stating that they are intended as PROMOTIONAL items only, strictly offered by the Mego Museum?
(But then, what of all of the licensed characters on the cards themselves....Apes/DC/etc...? ....Who knows...I'm certainly not an attorney..)

Its pretty that folks are selling these though....kind of like raiding your local 'Toys For Tots' bins and selling the toys on E-Bay....

There's nothing that can be done about it. People are free to sell objects they own. It's frowned upon here because we give them away for free.

How are they even acquiring them to sell? Former members that have chucked the hobby?

many of them were handed out at conventions and stuff so that could be were some were obtained , but probably some members who joined got them and then decided this forum wasn't for them..

I know I saw one of my local comic shops selling a few for like $5 a piece, I let him know these weren't made to be sold and removed them that I know off He said he bought them at the FX toyshow a few years back, I'm guessing he bought something and they threw in the cards

At SDCC a few years ago, I put a stack of cards out on the giveaway table that disappeared in under an hour. These cards are somewhat easily found with a little effort, but a fool and his money...

What about a small electronic 'sensor/charge' device impregnated into the cards? The sensor would be able to detect when a 'payment' was made for a card, and then begin to quickly break-down into a tar-like substance in the user's hands?

I look at it this way .... The cards are made to promote the Museum outside our little community ... In that respect they are certainly doing their job.

Being sold is just part of the evils of what happens in the real world.
