Got the Chief, as well as Samurai. Doing the Chief with the individual parts from CTVT is alot better than paying 150 on Ebay for a carded one.

I was crazy lucky to score an OG mad monster castle at a small vfw hall comics show.
I think I want to track down an apes treehouse table to complete it.Comment

Very good. Never had the castle, but did have the tree house as a kid. Loved that thing. Tarzan would swing by on occasion.33333E3C-81C6-486A-AD63-DE7945DA13E7.jpg

Never saw one at shows or otherwise. Would love to have one also.
I`ve seen tables on Ebay in the past, good luck on the hunt.Comment

I just received my Apache Chief in the mail, too!
Really happy with it! Boots definitely required a 'hair dryer assist,' and I had to 'try a few different looks' with the neck scarf before I hit on the look I preferred. But otherwise, it took only a couple of minutes to put it all together. Stands on his own very firmly as well. (I think because the boots have broad soles and are made of a rubber-ish material.)
Looking forward to pulling out my collection of the other Challenge of the Super Friends heroes in coming days. Really cool to see the photo above of Apache Chief and Samurai! I am particularly looking forward to seeing my Apache Chief standing with both FTC Samurai and FTC El Dorado, and then Apache Chief with NECA King Kong (which I originally bought a few years ago on clearance, to go with my White Elephant Super Joes)....

Here's a photo of Apache Chief with a NECA King Kong (variant painted to resemble a 1970s Warren magazine cover).
As I mentioned previously, I bought this King Kong on clearance several years ago, and was/am really happy with its 'painted' look. I also think it goes great as a 'regular' savage gorilla with my Super Joes from White Elephant Toyz. That said, this King Kong figure is actually very heavy, and so, despite its considerable articulation, its poseability is, at least for me, disappointingly limited.
All of that is to say, I'm afraid the pairing with Apache Chief was a well-intended disappointment. The pairing could've been significantly improved, I think, if I had any miniature, scale 'city scenery' to hand to make their 'giant size' a lot more evident. But alas. Against a plain white background, it's kind of a dud.

I still think it's a good pic when you know Apache Chief's power, but if you could get a little Anne Darrow to fight over...Here's a photo of Apache Chief with a NECA King Kong (variant painted to resemble a 1970s Warren magazine cover).

Ok. Here's what I was really looking forward to: a photo of my Apache Chief figure with FTC Samurai and FTC El Dorado.
I always liked it when these 'non-comic book characters' were featured on the cartoon. As I mentioned above, as a kid, Apache Chief's power to grow huge when he said a couple of magic words particularly captivated me, for whatever reason. And while he wasn't on the show frequently, and his powers were kind of poorly defined, and while I couldn't understand why he would call himself El Dorado and not be gold, I nonetheless thought it was really cool to have a superhero from Mexico, as by the 'Super Powers' era my family had moved to (border town) San Diego.
With that in mind, I had forgotten that my FTC Samurai is a little 'bobble headed' and the El Dorado head sculpt is not as excellent as I had recalled. But I had also forgotten that the El Dorado figure has a wired cape, which is really cool. But I couldn't get his arms to stay up, unfortunately....
Then there's the second photo, now with FTC Cyborg and recent Mego Firestorm.
As I mentioned above, as a kid I somehow lucked into buying Firestorm's very first appearance in comic books. Then he got his own comic book again circa...1982/3? And then one day, I saw him on the, I think, Legendary Super Powers show, complete with the professor! I thought that was so awesome to see this kind of obscure character in animation. But then, when Cyborg joined, in Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians, that was so awesome. I had already been a long-time fan/buyer of the New Teen Titans comic book, and he was by far my favorite DC superhero at the time.
With regard to the actual figures in this group photo, I was super bummed to see that my FTC Cyborg's clothes are disintegrating, despite being stored in a plastic case (with other figures), and me pulling him out to display briefly, maybe twice before ever. Huge bummer. In contrast, that recent Mego Firestorm figure is so, so awesome. It's one of my personal favorite new Mego DC figures. What a great job. (But, like the new Mego Flash figure, his red pants are bleeding red dye into his yellow boots....

Don't know if this totally counts as a "new" acquisition, but it's new for me. Just got the body in. Wanted to put one of my Jet Jungle customs on a type 1 body, to make him look more authentic. It's a type 1 Trek I just got, and I wanted to post the Pic, but didn't want to just update the old thread, or start a new one. Like I said, it is a new acquisition for me.Attached FilesComment
