This Pocket Heroes Spidey arrived in the mail today. I'm stoked to get him because I had one when I was a kid. I played with that figure a lot. It was one of those toys that just disappeared over time and I always missed him. He's got some paint wear and is pretty common as far as Megos go, but I'm very excited to have Spidey again. Now I want to track down the whole line. I also had Pocket Heroes Superman and Batman so they're near the top of the list to get next. And dang it I want to get these MOC as well and I don't collect MOCs. The toy hoarding bug runs deep in my house.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... this is my MEGO Harbert/Gig Collection!!!
I have found most of these beauties last year so they are technically "new acquisitions"
Harbert was the MEGO WGSH distributor in Italy from mid-seventies to mid-80s while GIG distributed the MICRONAUTS and other MEGO toys,.
Harbert/GIG-branded MEGOS are generally HARD to find even here in Italy since 95% of the MEGOS were given to children and so very very few examples of MOC and MIB figures still exist.
Harbert distributed the following 8'' WGSH: Spider-Man, Hulk, Batman, Robin, Superman, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, The Torch, The Thing.
Spider-Man was distributed on a 1975 US card with a circular Harbert sticker & on 1975 and 1979(with and without sewn sleeves) Harbert italian cards.
Hulk was distributed on a 1979 Harbert italian card only
Robin was distributed on a 1979 Harbert italian card only
Batman and Superman were distributed both on the Harbert 1979 italian Cards and on 1977 US Cards with white Harbert sticker.
Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, The Torch, The Thing were sold mostly on 1975 US cards with a yellow Harbert label....that's why you almost never find zombie heads here.
Most 1975 cards were sent by MEGO to Italy to satisfy the demand; this explains the scarcity of these card variations in the USA!
I also found MIB Torch and Thing with the same yellow sticker stuck on the front of the box (No IG or MrF are known to exist in this variation).
Instead, there are 12'' Harbert boxes for: Superman, Batman, Spider-Man. All of these should exist both in the HARBERT Italian Box and in the US Box with large light blue Harbert Sticker.
Pocket Superheroes had their italian cards too: white(GIG) and red(Harbert) even if it's unknown (to me) how many chars were made.
It will take a life to complete this set since I am still looking for:
8'' HULK 1979 Harbert Italian Card
8'' SUPERMAN 1979 Harbert Italian Card
8'' BATMAN 1979 Harbert Italian Card
8'' BATMAN 1977 US Card with white Harbert sticker
8'' INVISIBLE GIRL 1975 US card with yellow Harbert sticker
12'' SUPERMAN in both versions
12'' BATMAN in both versions
12'' SPIDER-MAN US box with light blue sticker
Unknown number of pocket heroes and magnetic figures
And now...MY COLLECTION!

It was another good trip to the post office today. These two Comic Action Hero figures arrived. I'm really happy with the Superman. The paint on his "S" logo is better than I hoped for. This pic doesn't do the figures justice. They look washed out in my bad lighting. Batman has a few chew marks on his head and I think the face paint has been touched up. But that's alright it gives Bats some character and history.
I'm having fun hunting down this line and the straight leg Pocket Heroes. Collecting toys is fun again. YAAAA Mego!!!
