'ODD' behaviour??

Do you find yourself 'hoarding' certain characters, rather intentionally or otherwise?
I was gathering my things for some current 'collection shots' to post here on the Museum, and noticed that for some strange reason I have multiples of certain characters, in some cases FOUR or more.

If I already HAVE (insert name here), why on earth should I want to acquire multiples of him/her? Maybe I am alone in this odd behaviour....

Nope. I have more 8inch and 12 inch Supermans any human should be allowed to have.

Everytime I order from Dr Mego, I end up added parts required to make "just one more" Superman.


And lately, I'm on a Bo Duke frenzy.

I have too many SMDM figures. Usually what happens is I buy something or a lot of SMDM stuff and there's a beater in there or I'll take part of it--socks or whatever--and upgrade another one. Swap a good arm to one without hair rubs, f.ex. One time I got a SMDM figure because he was wearing a Pulsar suit and had a spare, so I got him because I wanted the suits. That kind of thing.

Not so much with Mego's although I own 2 12" Spider-man Mego's. One in box, one loose.

Superpowers however....I have a compulsion to buy them when I see them at Toy Shows even if I already own them. That's if they are at a good price and have capes etc. I have 5 Robin's, 4 Batman's, about 8 Superman, 4 Wonder Woman, 2 Firestorm, 3 Green Lanterns and I could go on and on. My new goal is to get carded examples of Batman and Robin to go with my carded Joker.
I still don't own Shazam and would really like him but he's always $75 or more for a loose one and that's way too much.

I have the majority of them boxed in the garage with the bulk of my Superman collection, awaiting the day our florida room is finished finished being converted into a den. It's slow going.

I can just pull out the ones I have lying around and photograph them if you'd like. DO you want to see just the Megos? Mego-like as well, or the whole kit and kaboodle of DC Directs, Megos, Mego-like, DC Universe, Statues, etc?

I did a trade recently with Nayrbgo and got rid of a large pile...didnt want to end up on that show "Hoarders". (At one time I had a dozen C3-POs, six Greedos, six Darths, etc..insane stuff like that ....)

LOL I so can relate. I started my toy hobby with just loose vintage star wars. I had so many. I know I had like 15 han trenchcoats, oh and the first luke is my favorite figure from the line so I had a bag full even now I'll go through some stuff and find one that was hiding lol. but then I figured I'd sell off the extras to buy other items, I am so glad I did since I used the funds for my 80's GI Joe collection.

as for hoarding anyone item, I have a hard time letting go of spiderman, unless it's to help start someone on megos. I had like 5 but now I'm down to 2.

I don't know if it is really OCD or it just is simply cool to see so many of the same figures together. To me I think the feeling would be akin to what I would have felt like as a child if I had been able to ...oh, let's say...order an entire Mego case of Spider-men. The time Bryan opened the case of Kirks, that was just unbelievably cool to me.

Hmmmm....

I don't generally hoard a bunch of a single character, but I do have a fixation with army building. So I'd only ever get one Ursus, but I have a small army of soldier apes.
