I know I'm kinda new around here, but I just found the John Horus figure on Amazon and the JJ on the Classic TV toys site. I also just purchased Commader X, Capt. Action and a Phantom figures. I'm very fired up abut the super collector... The larger company stuff is obvious, but are there more for sale out and about??

Is there a list of some of the smaller companies making "Mego type" figures today?

I have been picking through them and finding lots of stuff, when I found the John Horus which is just a mego body with a repainted (Blonde) Dick Grayson head It started me wondering "what else was is available" since I hadn't seen anything on that creation on here...Comment

I'm very sorry about the John Horus figure - it never should have been made.
Dr. Mego is 50% of EMCE Toys - who is making Retro Action for Mattel,
Star Trek and Universal Monsters for Diamond Select Toys. Bif Bang Pow
is working with EMCE on their 8 inch line.
In my spare time (hah!) I am making Commander X figures for Nemo
Publishing and filling drmego.com orders.
Oh, and EMCE made Night of the Living Dead megos - still available at
FEARWERX: Original & Licensed Horror Merchandise and Dr. Mego's ReprosComment

Did you try the ReMego gallery? We try to keep it up to date, but I know the Horus figure is not listed.

I'm a fan of much of what Avatar Comics publishes these days, and was delighted that we not only got a figure, but that it was Mego style.
I would have loved to see more of the Avatar Comics characters get the Re-Mego treatment given the diversity of their line. Particularly some of those edgy Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis comics and the way they cross genres.
The barbarian from Wolfskin, or the cowboy from Streets of Glory. They certainly aren't short on zombies with the various Plague, Escape, Night of the Living Dead tie in comics sanctioned by Russo and Romero. It looks like there are some cool HP Lovecraft type creatures in Neonomicon.
I'm sure your huge blonde-Grayson head stockpile would have been well suited to making a figure of one of the zombie-like Crossed.Comment

The shame about the Horus figure was that there was no time to have the helmet
and the outfit done in China in time for San Diego Comicon where Avatar Press
was selling them.
They were literally assembled in my living room - a good chunk of time was spent
hand glueing each gold stripe on the labcoat.Comment

For what it's worth, that work was appreciated on this end as a customer. I can see why it would be hard to do more figures like that if this were the case.
How many Horus figures were produced by hand like this?Comment
