OK, I admit ignorance. What makes this toy museum special or 'official'? I don't think I have ever heard of it.

It's been around a couple yrs. The community of Pauls Valley, OK (pop. 6300) had a town meeting a few yrs ago trying to come up with something to make their downtown a "destination" for visitors.

One of the residents was an artist and toy designer (and collector), and proposed a "museum" of sorts celebrating pop culture toys and the like.

A few yrs later, the Toy & Action Figure Museum was born.

            Officially.

              Good news.

I'm going to put that toy museum on my list of vacation spots to visit.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

I'm glad we have the Museum available at all. I'm always worried abut Mego's impact on the next generation. Anything to preserve the History and tell the story is great by me. Thanks to the Toy and Action Figure Museum for giving Megos such an honor.

Maybe someday a group of us can Roadtrip there.

Here's a video of the place that was posted before:

YouTube - The Toy Action Figure Museum

Mostly modern stuff on display. Didn't notice anything vintage.

Are there any other prominent toy museums out there (aside from that one on Kruger St )? Although, I'd say the OK Museum hasn't quite made "official" status, this is how you get there. If they do things like this enough and do it professionally and with input from the toy world, they may become the "official" source.

BUT... If there was an official museum, I think you could make a very storng argument for Mego's inclusion. They really transformed the licensing aspect of the toy world. For good or bad, most kids products today come to market with media venture, toy line and whatever other bits of promotion ready to flood the market at the same moment.

Very cool to hear. Plus, I'm glad to see Archie Goodwin as one of the other inductees. He was another great comics mind who deserves to be recognized.
