Ape prototypes in Famous Monsters ad

Get a load of this. Not sure if anyone else has ever found it. These look different than the prototypes for the commercial. Look at the design on Corny and Zira's shirt fronts. Astronaut not only has the elastic belt, but a holster

Cool. I think Zira has a Zaius head from an Addar kit. Compare it to the Zaius below.

She appears to have a male body, also.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Cornelius' outfit looks the best of the bunch. The astronaut holster doesn't surprise me, since its pretty much an AJ with a different head anyway.

Very cool, I've never seen that ad before. It hard to tell from the scan, but is it possible that some of the pics are at least partially artwork rather than actual photos (similar to what was done with early Captain Action advertisements, for example)?

Is anyone else creeped out by the assertion "They move!"? Are we to infer that these 'Planet Flexible of the Apes Figures' are animatronic... or imbued with supernatural powers?

I was wondering the same thing. Those pics do not look "natural." They look like they've been altered with the best of 70's technology.
