I don't know... that body looks like blue molded plastic, not a paint job.
It really looks factory-made to me. I mean both the inside and outside are 'blue'.
Also, I doubt you could get a paint to stick to that waxy plastic without some scrapes or rubs here or there.
Just compare it to the grills on the front. That blue finish is pretty darn even throughout and very shiny smooth.
I agree that the hubs are painted yellow and black...and a nice job, too. I bet you they originally came silver and red, just like the 'black' batmobile we all know and love. That sticker on the molded door is probably repro.
I still say that body is blue plastic.

It does look like a molded plastic, but as mentioned it could also be one that was taken completely apart and then given a uniform enamel coat front and back. If it is plastic, could someone have made a mold?
      It's all good!

Custom. Batmobiles are easy to separate to get a good paint job on the shell.

if you look real close where there are dips along the hood where the light shines, you'll see a bit of "orange peel" texture ... not much but it's there ... for sure a very nice paint job on a custom repaint ... but cool ... I might try that with this beater batmoblie I have here.

There was a Mego hoax site a few years back. They had a blue Batmobile pictured. This one is more convincing, but I still think it's fake.

Alligators in the sewers is NOT an urban myth! Not a common thing, but not a myth. Just like wild born african pythons in Florida. Pets let go and survive.

As for the Blue Batmobile... I've seen auctions over the years with them. I think two or three. Think about it. The Batcycle is also available in blue. Not very common at all. I think the Batmobile is just more scarce in the blue.
Why was the Batcycle made in blue if the Batmobile wasn't?

In hand would be the real tell all for it. No mistaking a paint job in person.

I copied the photos so I could really zoom on it....
It might be...,not entirely convinced yet.
                You all may be right.
Someone really went to alot, I mean, ALOT of trouble to pull this off.
Pretty dang impressive..., but I'm not there, not yet....

You guys are professionals! Owner has confirmed that when scratched the paint does indeed come off revealing the black plastic beneath. I must confess, I was initially stumped at first glance.

Okay. That answers my question on how they were able to paint behind the seats without making a mess of them.

Looks cool, but obvious custom. The one on the Mego Misinformation page is far more convincing.

                      Cheers

Strange how no one else has seen these. If there were two or three auctions over the years surely this would've been mentioned here already

                          Okay, color me 'fooled'.
                          Very impressive job.

                          A 'blue' batmobile...
would've been something if Mego had made those.
                          Staggers the mind.
