If you're talking about the true knockoffs, the uber cheap stuff like Spiderman with spider sticker, I can count those collectors on one hand. If you're talking about the Lili Ledy stuff, there's quite a few more.
Lili Ledy stuff is licensed. The bootlegs OF Ledy figures(the true knock offs, the uber cheap stuff etc) on the other hand would look great in my collection . I'm mostly asking because when it comes to Star Wars bootleg items, without bragging in any way, I have the largest collection of unlicensed SW items in the world, with well over 6000 unlicensed SW pieces. I've written articles for the SWCA(star wars collectors archive) on bootleg SW items and done panels at SW Celebrations IV,V,and Celebration Europe.\
Unlicensed pieces from the Mego lines original era (now that I know some exist) have me fascinated. Time to start asking my friends in Mexico, that help me with SW bootlegs, if they can find me some. When I decided to start doing a Mego collection, I really wanted to only get Megos I had as a kid, but the bootleg collector in me just needs to have a few of these pieces.
Another question, Have any Unlicensed Mego like figures ever shown up from other 3rd world countries, or former Soviet Bloc nations?
